I only need to buy one of the items on the list, not all of them. So one of the Locos (if I can find one) should do.

Bachmann makes GP50s, which can be had at Trainworld, trainworld.com. Look here:http://www.trainworld1.com/bachmann/bachmann_HO_diesel_motive.htm (Scroll down until you see it.) They come in Southern and Norfolk Southern liveries. The price is pretty reasonable.

I'm not sure about the other items. There are GE locos with an alphabet soup of letters and numbers--U30C, C30-7, C44-9, C40-8 or Dash 8 C40, so I'm not sure what "GE 430c" could be. I think Athearn made a U30C, maybe Atlas. I'll try to find out.

The only problem with the Athearn GP50 is that it is temporarily out of production. Also, I have looked into it, and as far as I can tell, GE has not made a locomotive with "430C" in the model number. With both of these locomotives, I am assuming that the kid wants them in the BN paint scheme. Lastly, if I have interpreted #2 correctly, the kid wants a layout. This will most definitely cost over $100. The only way you could get around that is to cut the quality and have a simple loop of track on a piece of plywood and a power pack. That whole "layout" would cost about $50, maybe even less.
Just my two cents.

my office is doing one of those buy a gift for a needy child things. Here are the 3 items exactly as they are written on the child's card:

1. GE 430c Diesel ele locomotive
2. Burlington Northern Perm Railroad
3. GP 50 desel ele locomotive

I cannot find any of these things. I'm pretty sure whoever typed this probably screwed it up. Any idea what these things are and where to get them?

Also, if these things turn out to be 100s of dollars, what *can* I get him in the $20 to $30 range.
