Model Railroading Movie?

I hope that I won't offend anyone by calling this movie "old" but it was out when I was a kid (30 yrs ago) and I feel old! LOL :)

Does anyone remember an old model railroading movie that showed model railroading from the ground up? It was a funny movie starting off with a model railroad in the house and showing a tunnel out of a loaf of bread, etc... It ended with a HUGE operating session on a gigantic layout and all of the problems that can happen during a model railroading session that is "over" controlled?

I remember it being shown on a reel-to-real projector at some of the local model railroad shows in my area (Chicago).

Any thoughts on a title or if it's still available?

Hmmm,. I have an extensive collection of model railroading and prototype railroad videos, and have never seen that one, and I'm not as young as you, either.

Sounds like "Model Railroading Unlimited", especially if it has dancing girls. They show it at the trains hows in Timonium MD.

And if you think using scantily clad women to get guys to buy things is new, check out the Tru-Scale ads in the 50's Model Railroaders and Railroad Model Craftsman. I can only imagine what would happen if they tried to run ads like that these days.

Yeah, I'd be curious if this one existed on DVD somewhere....

Considering that at the Timonium show, they still show this film with a regular 16mm movie projector, I doubt it's on DVD or VHS. A shame, because I'd like to see the whole thing, there's just too much going on at that show to sit and watch the movies. I'm a bit too far away from there to go back the second day, and a bit too close to justify staying down there overnight.

"Model Railroading Unlimited" has been available on VHS- I borrowed a VHS copy from the NMRA's Library in Chattanooga ten years or so ago to show at a train show.

Green Bay, how about letting us know what the quality of the print is like after you've received it? I'm not expecting something real great, but I have seen some transfers from film to DVD (and VHS) that simply aren't worth having.
