Rich, I believe you have 2 outs here.1) I recently saw "The Cast of Beatlmania" (that is the official name) perform locally, and in the 3rd costume set (they do 3 costume changes to go with the sets - the 1964 "Hard Day's Night" era "Beatle Suits", the 1967 "Sgt Pepper" era "marching band" outfits, and the 1969 "Abbey Road" era outfits you are trying to replicate; aside, the performer playing John got a 'Nice Suit!' comment from 'Paul' - scripted but funny. Anyway the performer playing 'Paul' definitely wore shoes in that set, so just claim it's the modern era (post 1980 anyway) and the cast of Beatlemania is filming a publicity photo.2) Apparently there were 6 images taken during the rather quick 10 minute photo set, and in serveral of them Paul worn sandles.
Otherwise, well, good luck sanding down the Paul figure's feet and carving out toes...
Rich:
That is fun. The paint jobs are very good.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
gmpullman Hey, mate... Shouldn't Paul be barefoot? Just askin' Nice job! Ed

Literally.
Just a wee bit of fun for an upcoming OO scale London Underground project. (Ignore the hot glue for this quick test)
In the meantime, check out the blog of my industrial switching layout - the Southside Industrial District.
