If you really want confusion follow the Kader/Sanda Kan/Bachmann/Hornby conglomerate!

I wasn't aware of the tragic fire that took place at their factory in 1993. More deaths than in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire.

I just read the review of the new Korea Brass U-25C in MR. It looks like a decent model and it's great to see "a new guy" enter the fold. However.......I fully expected to be reading about a BRASS engine! Plastic body & truck sideframes?  Diecast frame and trucks? Did I miss something here? Where does the BRASS come into play here?

Not being critical of the engine as, like I said, it seems like it's a pretty good model overall in spite of the few nitpicks the reviewer pointed out.

My BIG complaint is the Western Maryland never had any and it has been one of my favorite diesels since I saw the first real one!

From the looks of it, Korea Brass is a contract manufacturer and does a lot of stuff for BLI.  http://korea-brass.com/new/english/sub03_03.php?qr=&page=3  That 3751 class ATSF 4-8-4 has got to be the BLI model http://korea-brass.com/new/english/sub03_03.php?qr=&page=4

It looks like they do BLI's N scale diesels.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

This is not the first time a brass manufacturer marketed plastic models. IIRC, Ajin marketed the Tower 55 line in the late 90's.

Korea Brass has been a supplier to the model manufacturing market since the mid 1980s.

They were involved in some nasty litigation over stolen proprietary models between MTH (Mike Wolf) and Lionel.

Now they have gone out on their own with a line of locomotives.

If I recall correctly, this U-25 was on the drawing boards for years.
