Thanks, Catt.  Unfortunately, like N-scale - Z-scale US steam is still pretty limited as far as options: Mikados and a Big Boy.  Hopefully either Marklin and/or American Z Line can start expanding that in the near future.

Marklin has been doing Z steamers since they invented the scale.AZL also has steam to their credit.

I've seen some amazing new builds from American Z Line and the levels of detail keep getting better and better.

I'm assuming the locomotives are all diesels?  N-scale is pushing it with steam.  I can't imagine a Z-scale steam engine working well or reliably because of the complexity of the parts.  Since I model steam and early diesel, I won't be moving from HO anytime soon.

Z Scale In Depth look?

Now that Z Scale is no longer a new comer, how about a deep dive into the world of Z?  I've seen some amazing new builds from American Z Line and the levels of detail keep getting better and better. Looks like a new feature section should be cropping up in the magazine.
