Thank you. Got it. For anyone removing your tender shell remove your front tender grab rails, remove the tool box behind the coal bunker on top then slide the coal load towards the rear then lift, remove the small screw from under the coal load, remove the screws like Spalato68 says under the water hatch. Remove the 2 small screws at the rear corners underneath. Lift off. Thanks again Spalato68.

Hi,

two screws are holding the tender shell from above. One is hidden below coal load imitation and the other below water fill hatch. You can see that in the explosion drawing, you can download one here:

(page 12 or 13, depending on which version you have - oil or coal tender).

This is older Big Boy version (with MRC sound decoder), but very probably it will help you.

Has anyone removed the tender shell from they're Athearn Genesis Big Boy. I noticed 2 screws at the back underside. Any help would be appreciated.
