These brass locomotives are really good when you remove the quirks.
This one now has all wheel pickup as an example.

Looks and sounds good. I had a brass Sunset K-27, but sold it to help pay for my first pair of Blackstone K-27s. Partly this was in anticipation of a market price decline in brass K-27s, which created some darn good deals in those.
I subsequently learned to install Tsunamis and wish I had the Sunset back. You do have to mind your Ps and Qs, but it's not really rocket science, either, just patient wiring and testing to avoid letting any smoke out. The trickiest part for me was getting a good speaker mount. Sounds like yours is well-coupled.

Hi all!First test of the Tsunami sound decoder installation in my Sunset models K-27
. I have painted and decalled it, installed headlight, added new power pickups and installed a decoder in it.The speaker is mounted in the coal load and will be covered by a thin foam with crushed coal on top.I have a few adjustments to make and do the weathering before it is finished.:-)
