Which "one" magazine (for beginners) would you subscribe to for help in model railroading?

Go with "Model Railroader." There are others, but this one has the widest appeal, it seems to me.

Model Railroader would be the best choice. Trains deals more with real trains and the others are targetted at a specific type of modeler. Model Railroader appeals to everyone.[:)]

Start with MR, then check out RMC. As a third choice, you could try one of the Nscale Magazines, unless you run Lionel tinplate for CTT. These are more scale specific.

I think MR is the best one for beginners or veterans. It is very layout oriented - getting started, improving, operating, etc. Outside of specialty magazines it and RMC, which focuses on model building, are the two I have subscribed to for 30+ years.
Enjoy

I would have to agree, MR is the one!

It caters too all skill levels in the hobby. It seems MR is the one that everyone buys if they only get one magazine of have multiple subscriptions.

A plant, Bsteel? NEVER! [:-,]

Seriously, for excellence for someone committing to one mag, MR is it.
