Not sure if you are close to Roanoke, but have you checked at The Rail Yard?   Located on Rt. 11 between Plantation Rd and Hollins College, I expect that they initially stocked a number of this set.  They also purchase & resell items, and it might be worth a try.

Perhaps Craiglist also to find the train?  Hopefully the set derails less often than the football team.  As a long-time fan, it's just painful.

It wouldn't be hard at all to make a better quality facsimilie using your own paint and decals.

I'm sure there a few people here who would do custom paint jobs to if you asked.
