Thank you, Darth!
It must have been glued in place at the factory. The anticlimber on my SD75M was also firmly attached, and removing the entire walkway from the chassis was the easiest way to get the lights installed. Insert the wires down through the anticlimber and back through the pilot, and pull them through until the light bulbs are almost down to where they need to be. Glue the ditch light housings together around the bulbs, and then down to the anticlimber. Then you can pull the wires through the rest of the way so they don't show underneath.

Well, that's the odd bit, Darth -- it looks like it's pretty firmly attached to the walkway (thought there is a seam), but the instructions show it as a seperate piece.
The anticlimber is part of the walkway piece. You will have to remove the entire walkway to access the ditch lights. It's only held on by the coupler boxes, so removing it is easy.
Hi all -- I purchased a couple of new-in-box (but not very new) Athearn Genesis SD70s. Both are untouched. These are yellow-box undecs that require partial assembly.
The instructions talk about installing the ditch light housing and wiring into the anticlimber before installing them on the locomotive, but on both of the locomotives, the anticlimbers are still in place. I gave 'em a gentle tug but they didn't move. Anyone have any experience with these? Should I be able to remove the anticlimber without breaking it, or should I just leave it be and assemble the ditch lights in place?
TIA!
Aaron
