Go for the airbrush, you will love it. But be sure to buy a decent one.

well i'm trying to find a reasonably priced undecorated athearn loco to test my paint skills on. i'm going to ask for an air brush for Christmas so i'm trying to find a loco to test out on when i get it. i'm trying to think of a possible railroad that i could create for my layout. right now i'm leaning towards St. Croix Valley RR or something like that, the SCVRR. the main body would be black, the nose and end woudl be red and the hand rails would be silver with silver lettering. the colors are my shcool colors.

also i'm going to see if my friend can renumber and reletter one of my locos for me. a BN GP50 with the black and orange face, want it relettered and renumbered for BNSF.

and i'm trying to figure out a way to get a yard onto my layout somehow. i have no room really but i want to have one so bad.

thats just some main stuff that i'm thinking about besides putting kits together and trying to get some of my buildings up. i'm really hoping i can get an airbrush and an undecorated loco so i can come up with something.

Ok, call me crazy but I'm going to take my Athearn BB GP35, already custom painted for Chicago & Eastern Illinios & label it for the MEC.

I'm not sure if the MEC ever had any GP35's, but on my layout, it does now! [:)]

I'm not going to repaint it, I'm only removing some of the decals for the C&EI, paint the railings & do a quick decal job on it for road number & MEC marking.

A type of, "we need here now" type mentality that the head office might have if a railroad goes & buys a working unit & needs it right away & the guys in the shop
gives it a quick shot of paint.

I hope that sounds alright.
