My Athearn F7a decoder troubleshooting
Posted by Trainman440 on Friday, September 4, 2015 5:26 PM

Hi! I did return the not responding replacment decoder from Athearn. (a Athearn newest version F7a Santa fe )SurpriseThey gave me a new one that appears to be in good condition. But, its not. This is my 3rd(can you belive that?!?!) faulty decoder from Athearn! That must be a world record! Big SmileAnyways, the engine would sorta run off, then go back to normal speed when I turn the engine around. (for ABA consisting) Has anyone had this problem?

If so, how do you fix it?

Heres a video of the glitching engine.

I've reseted the decoder 3 times, thinking that it might help. (cv8 to 8, and cv 32 to 2, then a power off and repower the engine.)

Also, has anyone had to replace their decoder 3 times? Stick out tongue

Thanks,

Charles
