I bought a set of color drift cards from the NPRHA. Maybe these cards would be helpful for you also.

Even though I'm not particularly a NP modeler, these color drift cards are handy references and many of the same colors (Pullman Green, Dulux Gold) were used by other railroads.
According to the sheet that was packaged with the cards, Imitation Gold was the color applied to NP freight diesel locomotives.
I missed out when the PRRHTS had their drift cards available. I imagine if a set ever came available it would command a king's ransom...
Good Luck, Ed
One more question I have since i'm doing a GP9 unit; Does anybody know of any replacement doors for the cab? I can't find any and one of those dumb "opening" doors broke while I was trying to remove the glazing so I could strip the paint from it

Tru-Color and Modelflex both make NP yellow.
I'm not sure how correct it is, but I used mustard yellow. Close enough for me. I don't recall the maker of the paint, but it was not Floquil. It was from a hobby shop a few years ago.

Anybody here know of an accurate yellow color for NP hood units? My next painting project is a Proto 2000 GP9 in NP's "simplified" scheme seen here:
