There are a multitude of techniques, all of which work IF you have any idea what you want it to look like when you're done. None of them will work if you don't. Go to a library, look at pictures, see what the real thing looks like.

Howdy! Purchase Woodland Scenics "The scenery manual". It should answer most of your questions.I don`t remember the price, but is cheaper than most and is in most hobby shops so no waiting.Techniques are discussed with Scenics products along with the alternatives.Go Scenery! horailfan

HI, I'm a new at modle trains, and have got board made and track laid. Now its time for scenery and I wi***o build a mountain from insulating foam and plaster cloth. I get the overall jest of it except, once you carve the foam and put on the wet plaster cloth, how do you make the wet plaster cloth look like rocks, boulders and a general mountain apperance.
Also , are there any vidios that are worth the price on this subject?
