Hi Bill, You are right about the specific manufacturer of cork roadbed. Once on a business matter I had to call on a company that made cork gaskets for heavy machinery. The GM was giving me a tour of the cutting operations. I noticed that one operator was cutting some 3/16 inch cork into 3 ft. strips and I asked what was that for. He replied.."Oh that's scrap...we cut it up and its sold to guys that play with model trains..." Just like processing a hog...everything is used except the squeal...HA HA... I don't think there's a lot of difference - in fact I'm not sure you can even get a specific manufacturer of cork roadbed. There are different type of roadbed out there - cork, foam, that funky tar strip stuff - is that what you are asking?
