Hi Bill, Seems to me that the smart thing to do if you can't find a buyer for the layout would be to dismantle it and save all of those high quality components you have for your next layout.
My reasoning behind this is that as you know the price of things just keeps going up. Just how to fix a price for the layout is gonna be kinda hard because you will have to determine what your components are worth and what your time in constructing the layout was worth. Since the layout appears to be easily transported you might take it to a trainshow or possibly run an ad in one of the model railroad mags. Its always "tough" to have to take one down when you don't want to. Take Care Vic

Selling a layout

I am faced with a possible move and can't take my HO layout with (no room). My dilemma is do I tear it apart or is there a market for a work -in-progress layout? It could be moved in one piece (about 12' by 7') and is well built with high quality components (Digitrax DCC, Shinohara switches, Tortoise switch machines, etc.). Any ideas on how to find a buyer or how to set a value for the layout would be greatly appreciated - I'd hate to just tear it apart. It is located in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area.
