Hears some B&O talk:

That EM-1 is Baltimore and Ohio's sweetest locomotive. And they didn't even want them! But they turned out to be one of the finest steamers they ever operated. The fact that they lacked many external rivits and piping gave them a simplified smooth look. Some concider it the most beautiful articulated ever.
This super bad-*** Yellowstone was the lighest and least powerful of the wheel arrangment.

They were one of the first. Most people say it is, but actually, the Delaware & Hudson was the first.

don't get me started on B&O history...
Not the first, but the first that hauled both Freight and passenger.

As fro the dome....there is a reason B&O fanatics are called Domers, is that it was the logo of the railroad for many many years. but not all the time. The B&O existed before the Capitol dome was constructed, so for many years, it was just the text "Balto & Ohio" on cars.

I love the B&O. It runs about 3rd or 4th in my hierarchy of railroads.
