Rails 5:
While it is possible that my toggles from Fertiks were used, I doubt it. They were advertised as new, had no marks on them, no solder on the lugs or other signs of use, and lasted in my layout for over ten years of use with no failures (35+ switches). I will be re-using them on the next layout as well.

I would highly recommend
mpja.com
. I have made many very good transactions with them. The only problem is that they have a $15.00 minimum order. All Electronics is another good place, but they have already had their link posted in this thread.

A friend of mine just got 100 DPDT toggles from Mouser and I think he paid $2.00 each. I am wiring his yard panels for him and used 10 of these toggles in the last couple of days. They seem fine although the holes in the lugs were a bit tight for #20 wire. Getting one wire through each hole was OK but the second was a very tight fit.

Most of what Fertiks sells is used - has been pulled out of retired equipment. This often doesn't matter, and in my experience, some of the stuff was originally very high commercial grade. But for toggle switches, (1) quality matters - whatever Demar is offering for 96 cents may fail on you after a few hundred toggles (2) used switches have been toggled an unknown number of times and therefore have an unknown remaining life span. Mouser, Digikey and AllElectronics are all good sources but may not save you much money compared wtih Radio Shack after paying shipping.

Fertiks in Phliadelphia has good prices on toggles. He advertised inb MR for years. Very reliable. The toggles were high quality for under a buck each.

willy6,
I haven't dealt with Demar Electronics. If you want access to electronics, contact either Mouser (www.mouser.com) or Digi-Key (www.digikey.com). They each have a huge selection and don't mind dealing with the little guys. You will have to find what you want in their catalogs and decipher the description / measurements to get exactly what you need. Their pricing is competitive and they deliver fast. Good luck.

As I continue to wire my layout, i need 10 more DPDT minature toggle switches. Radio Shack wants $5.00 a piece. There's an add in Dec. issue of MRR a company called Demar Electronics has the same switch for $.96 each. I just would like to know if anyone has ever dealt with this company before i spend my money with them.Or do you know of another good source of electronics besides Radio Shack.
Being old is when you didn't loose it, it's that you just can't remember where you put it.
