Movable frogs were not at all uncommon on prototype turnouts and very sharp-angled diamond crossings. I have even seen photos of them on the 2-foot gauge Bridgeton & Saco River!

dinwittyyah, truscale had the switchable frogs that moved with the points, kinda the old tinplate trick.
There is a prototype http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swingnose_crossing - http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,1004204
I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.
I don't have a leg to stand on.
It has been a while since I looked at TruScale track but as I recall there are several different versions of their switches and the one I recall had the frog switched by the built in switch mechanism. I'd be surprised if some level of modification were not required.
We used that old Tru-Scale track all the time at the club. It's NOT DCC friendly but we only had a few issues with it. If you want to make it DCC friendly you can visit:www.wiringfordcc.com
