Operating A Spectrum DCC Three Truck Shay On An Analog Layout

The Spectrum Shay has a Sound Traxx LC Digital Decoder and has a warning on the box that it should not be operated on an Analog System. Is there any means or modification that can allow Analog or DCC operation like the Broadway Engines?

In one simple word NO! Period.Don't even think about it as it will blow the sound unit..
SoundTraxx sound system is meant to be used with DCC only..So heed the warning.
There is no device to make these sound systems DC compatible.

Well, there's one way -- since you mention modification, you could remove the sound system and decoder if you know what modifications were made to the locomotive to install it in the first place. I installed a SoundTraxx system in one of my Bachmann Shays a couple of years ago, and it required soldering because Bachmann's original version of their Shay was not DCC ready. But, as Brakie says, don't even think about trying to run a SoundTraxx equipped locomotive on analog DC unless you like to see a locomotive smoke.
