MTH is set for a "Spring Release", whatever that means.
I hope the price is not too high.
At the moment I am running eight six car sets with a few spares in the yard. I'd like more, but cannot afford them. When I win the MR contest, then I'll be able to get a few sets of the MTH product and see how that works, though it is likely I'll have to remove that DCC stuff to get it to work on my layout.
Failing that, Trains and Lanes in Allentown still had two of the W/LL in stock as of last summer. I am saving pennies incase they still have them when I get back this August.

Mr.B,
LOL, You caught Me! I Posted that in a 2012 thread. Thought it was appropiate.

That's not NYC, it's Boston in 1928. One way to get Charlie off the MTA.
As for subway releases, MTH did announce their models, but to my knowledge has not set a date. MTH does a lot of O-scale subways, but this is their first set in HO. It will be DCC, and as I recall it will have sound. I didn't see a price listed in the announcement, but I'd guess it will at least $500 for the set.
Walthers hasn't made any more of their sets for a few years. The last ones had an MSRP of $240, but that price goes up with every release. You can find both sets and individual cars on eBay right now. You might find a set at a train show, too. I have 2 sets of these Walthers cars, and they are still running perfectly after 8 years in service. The Walthers sets were DC only, but all 4 cars are lighted, all-wheel pickup, and adding a decoder to the powered unit is extremely easy.

When they get around to cleaning up the mess on their test track.
I had a new's letter about it....but I must have deleted it. Sometime this Spring is all I remember. Try to Google MTH FOR THE AD.
Hi Everyone,
I have an interest in obtaining some HO scale NYC subway models.
I had thought I heard of a new production run coming soon, but I can't find any details. Does anyone have the inside scoop?
Thanks,
Greg in Buffalo NY.
