Nice work everyone. I only have a couple projects this week. Finished up the interlocking tower- no photos yet. Did some more work on the port authority transit light rail vehicle today. Put an interior sketch in, and built the car up. I still need to paint the interior, build the operator cab interior, etc. I also do need to attach another truck as well. Oh, and start on the powered end as well.

Some detail parts I had ordered came in, so I made some progress on my 3 HOn30 projects for Boothbay Railway Village. The 2 critters are kitbashed from Athearn Hustlers, and the boxcab is 3D printed by Shapeways. The next step is to carefully add the power units so the coupler heights are correct, then on to the paint shop.

Here is what JohnBoy was trying to post.... Looks like a great layout. ... I hope JohnBoy will show more of his layout.

Interesting photos and projects, everyone. I think this year's goal has to be to complete scenery in at least one scene.
Meanwhile, here are some added old time cars. Very bright, these might be the first rolling stock I weather a bit to tone them down. Plus add shorter couplers.
And a "new" F7 paired with the trailing F3. I was probably lucky to find an Intermountain UP F7 shell kit to fit atop an extra chassis, to which I added a leftover diesel Tsunami from a GP9. The headlight LED needs some toning down, perhaps some paint (or a piece of straw) on the outside of the "bulb" for a more focused beam. And just for fun, a pair of 2-8-0s plugging along.

Just finished the Waterville Shanty kit by N Scale Architects.
It's a wee little shanty indeed...
HO-Velo Bear, Thanks for the start. Your's, Frank's and Garry's photos are extra fun for we trucking fans. Garry, I like your stonework, is it a casting?

Peter ... Thanks for the comments.... The stone retaining walls are made by Chooch. These are a flexible material with an adhesive backing, and are easy to install. My retaining walls are longer than the sections made by Chooch, and therefore I placed them end-to-end. I filled the joints with putty, and the joints are not noticable. Also, I used washes of acrylic paint to change the coloring.
Everybody else: ... Great photos of outstanding work. Keep it up !
Excellent work guys. I couldn't resist to jump in, as I haven't posted in WPF for awhile.
I've got lots of coil cars and gondolas to fill, so I have been experimenting making steel coils.
While 'googling around" steel coils, I found a chart with sizes and weights. WOW these things are heavy! No wonder you see only one on a flat bed trailer. Mike.

Some of my trucks, would look right at home on Your layout Peter.
I will probably have more pic's tomorrow....when My Son Peter is off work. Added a lot more to the rail/truck terminal since taking the last one's.
Thanks for Your kind word's Guy's.
Have another side shot:

Thanks to all, regards, Peter
With snow on the way there will be some serious work time on the current Lehigh Valley 2-10-2 project. However for some fun here is the unoriginal but totally necessary biggest and smallest shot with the recently finished 2-8-8-0 and 0-6-0 built about 2 years ago.

Ahhhhhhhh, the Weekend! Some great work here as always! I do enjoy seeing what all you folks are getting done. It inspires me to keep plugging away at things.
I did some ballasting this week. Here is some I did this evening:
Have any idea how hard it is to hold your hand perfectly still for the 13 seconds it took to get the photo without using a flash?
Been finishing up the area around Howard's Dairy on the layout. Scenery is almost finished there.

We'll get there sooner or later!
Great works everybody.
Don't have a lot of time, but I have scratchbuild and nearly finished the crane for my high lift coal dumper.
As mentionned for some piece I will use plastic because Nscale is tiny and I want great details.

Nice work folks. Well, I've been "canadianizing" this Bowser 4-8-4 for a few weeks now. I added details to get it close to the CN 6100. Moved the bell, changed the pilot and changed the pilot wheels. She also got a new can motor and I installed sound. It was a bit of an adventure getting these in without installing new gears... She runs great now, I just need to get the paint and decals done.
Below, results of my previous Bowser project (99% complete!).

Even though it's just the regulars so far, an impressive group of pics.
Been working on track up on the Cascade Branch, turning it into a full-fledged operational line, instead of a glorified staging track. Untoll recently, past Purgatory was all a single line that went to the Crater Lake quarry. A couple of months ago, I added the logging spur up to Camp 13. This project added most of the track in Crater Lake, plus sidings at Crater Lake Junction and Camp 10. Here's a tease of some pics, but I'll be posting many today in my Cascade Branch thread: http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/219241.aspx?page=3#2715556

Nice work from everyone this week. F7's veiwed from Roaring Creek.
A good beginning to WPF guys. Keep the photos and ideas coming.
NYC GP-40 #3083 crosses Rt. 32 westbound at the head of a mixed freight, on the BRVRR mainline. The loco is an Atlas model with a Soundtraxx DSD-101-LC decoder. A great runner.
Thanks to all of you great modelers out there who make WPF the best thread of the week!
Remember its your railroad

Bear ... Thanks for starting the thread with a very nice photo. Please pass on to the modeler of the tractor/trailer a "Thumbs up" from USA.
Rick ... The ITC 60' box car is outstanding.
GP9 ... Your Houseshoe Curve is becoming a masterpiece
Frank .... The trucks and the truck terminal are very impresive.
I'll re-post my recently built Burlington tractor / trailer along with the GN tractor/trailer.
Here is a photo I took last night of my sound-equipped 2-10-2.
The week is off to a great start.
Bear, cool shot of your club's layout.
Rick, yet another impressive freight car.
Frank, Your truck depot is turning out nicely.
I'm rapidly appraoching the finish line with Horseshoe Curve.
And in a group of photos that could esily be captioned "There Goes the Neighborhood" I've decided to add a fourth era tomy layout. All of these have been custom painted and decaled. The GP20 was origionally lettered for New York Central, how's that for prototypical?

Thanks for the start off Bear...Hope one day You too will get to retire. Nice layout pic'.
Rick....nice job on the box....little long and too new for me though.
I havn't posted much, been pretty busy, cleaning off my project plate, but I'll share a couple pic's. First is a pic' of two Sylvan 34ft open top/tarp trailers I just finished...might be in Model Freightways publication next issue....anyway a lot of mod's done to them. Suspension has been altered with K&S brass tube and brass rod axle's with A-Line tires and wheels, so they roll, (Sylvan's are static models) and K&S music wire for the tie-down bar. Tie down's are Tichy Phosphor Bronze wire, whole trailer was built with Zap-A-Gap CA, found it to be the best. Black color is Tamiya semi gloss black Acrylic, gives it a slight rubber shine, Floquil Old Silver and Model Master Fire Red for chassis and wheels.
The second shot is just set up by the rail/truck terminal I am still working on....but getting close, lights are in, two office's with interior and figure's are done. By the way that building is removable in one piece, I do all the work on it at the work bench.
Nice picture Bear, I have always liked the Burlington Paint Schemes.
I only got one car done this week, but here are a couple of views of it.
The Illinois Terminal Railroad had two 60' Boxcars, they were assigned to the Amoco Oil Company refinery for the shipment of refined oil products.
The ITC leased these cars from Evans, and there is no history on who the manufacturer was but the cars were very similar to the Greenville and Thrall cars of the period.
Since I had a number of Robbins Rails Greenville cars in stock, I removed the plug doors down to the car sides and made a door out of Evergreen Sheet Plastic and then used Evergreen 1x3 strips to make the doors themselves along with the upper door track. In addition I changed the wheelbase from 41' to 46' to match the prototype. I added a Moloco Hydracushion Assembly to the frame and Plano Coupler Walkways over the Details West Etended Coupler Pockets.
Painted the car with Scalecoat II Reefer Yellow along with Black for the underframe, then used Floquil Platinum Mist to represent the galvanized roof. Car was decaled with Mark Vaughn's decals for this car. (The other car did not have the slogan on it.)
