It's not much, but I ran my newest custom paint job yesterday. Its got a decoder and a sound board in it, which I put in myself which is a big deal.

Eastern Car Works ACF Covered Hopper kit, retrofitted with a Plano Roofwalk, A-Line Sill Steps and added airlines. Painted Scalecoat II MofW Gray and lettered with Highball Graphics Decals.
IMRC 12 Panel - 10' IH 40' Boxcar Kit, one of five I have done. Very few cars were painted in the Glacier Green Scheme with the modern Graphics before going to the Big Sky Blue paint. Painted with Floquil Paint and lettered with Champ Decals.
Robbins Rails (Lifelike) 50' Boxcar PC X72 Class, removed cast on Ladders and replaced with ladders out of the scrapbox, new A-Line Sill Steps, kit came with a detailed Details West underframe. Painted with Floquil PC Green & Platinum Mist Paint then lettered with Microscale Decals.

Pretty happy to report achieving a longstanding goal after much effort, some over the years and some just recently. I finally was able to run my brass Key "San Juan" set powered by my Sunset K-28 into Silverton in what you probably thought was a regular occurence.
But it hasn't been. Despite limiting the grade to 2.5% and some weight added, the 476 always had to sub some lighter cars into the consist to handle the San Juan. But I finally got to profiling the last part of the grade, smoothing the way. And I found a way to squeeze in another 3/4 ounce of weight. And that finally got things squared away enough that an all-brass San Juan was possible.
It was a little messy, but worth the effort. Here I'm testing, still with some plastic cars in the consist.
463 has been wandering a round with that big plow in recent months. I had a brainstorm -- there's a lot of empty space in that plow! So I added 10 grams or so up there, along with 7 grams in the cab and suddenly it's hauling an extra car up the grade, too
The track gang is at work up on the Cascade Branch again at Crater Lake Junction

OK I'm building it! After 3 years finishing the basement and 2 years of planning, I bought supplies to begin the benchwork! I will have trains running by the end of the year.

I'm steadily marching towards the finish line at Horseshoe Curve. This week, I finished the lake bed and started building the intake structure. I'm hoping to have most of the heavy lifting done this weekend.

I feel the same way. The 476 is my favorite of them all. It's the first narrowgauge loco I ever got close to on a family vacation in 1967. Somewhere I have a B&W pic of us kids and Grandma standing in front of it on the street in Silverton. Riding the train wasn't in the budget or schedule, but I did catch Narrowgauge Fever

Another thread a week or so ago prompted me to build up one of these Gold Medal Models phone booths:
It's a nice little model. The kit doesn't include any clear plastic for the walls, but that was easily remedied. Once I got it assembled, I put it on the layout. Right away, some guy named "Clark" said he needed to use it.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

ive been slowly adding to the fleet. i dont have many tank cars so ive been snagging this up from the local train store. all used under 5.00, added kedees and metal wheel sets not all done on those yet.
found a twin of my crane so had too.
three more tank cars, also a year or so i found the twin for my lional radio active flat.
also been adding some more ground goop to the hills. finally covered the painted masking tape. over tunnel No1.

Working on an N-scale diorama while I figure out a track plan. This was my first attempt at using plaster cloth. Messy but came out pretty well.

Just got the Decoders for these today, I'll be installing them tomorrow. I finally have a Big Sky Blue Empire Builder and the Locomotives to lead it, my Gramps will be pretty happy to see it as well. On our trip to Toppenish we agreed the Big Sky Blue scheme was our favorite GN Passenger Scheme.

Doing some experiments with proto87 ultimate track system to see if I want to hand-lay the track on my new modules with it or stick with commercial track.
My Grande Valley Railway Road Mate and power unit a GP38-3 on a grain transfer. Did this unit 2 years ago and never noticed till I took this pic I never finished the paint and numbers on it.GP38-3 is an original ATLAS/KATO unit that was painted in 1994.The RoadMate is a ATLAS Classic I did two years ago.
