If you don't mind the non-scale appearance or plan to detail them (allow 39 years)[:D][:D][:D] try Life-Like Power, dummy, and caboose sets for about $30

Have seen "A Bunch" of dummy Santa Fe FP45s on Ebay. I got one not too long ago for about $18 in great condition. It's going to get a Mashima motor and DCC!

Just go to Ebay and in the search box type in FP45, or Santa Fe. Make sure you check the seller's "Feedback" before bidding and winning.

Word to the wise: I wouldn't pay any more than $25 (shipping included) dollars for a dummy unless it was something rare!

Cheers!

Are you planning to use your dummy locomotive for modeling passenger or freight train? If you are doing F units (FT, F3, F7), the A units with cabs did NOT have a steam generator which was necessary to supply heat, power and air conditioning to passenger cars. Santa Fe passenger trains pulled by "F"s always had at least one "B" unit in consist. So you could use powered A-dummy B or powered A - dummy B- dummy A, but not powered A-dummy A....if you want to be accurate.

Of course, it's your railroad. But if you want to keep the "passengers" happy....

I noticed in Athearn's 2004 Blue Box production list that almost all of the locomotives are offered only as powered ones.
