Can it be done through Safari on an iPad?

Onewolf

When I (just) changed my avatar using Firefox it asked permission to run Silverlight.

That worked for me!  Thanks.

Just to see what would happen if I wanted to change my avatar I went through the motions and when asked to browse it took me straight to my computer files. I use IE 11

No problems here.

What I have seen on this site particulary when MR does an update, identical computers with identical internet programs have different experiences. Why? Never heard an answer.

If you have a different browser, try it to just make the change. Ebay has a glitch like that as well. In my Saved Sellers list, there is no option to add any personal comments using Google Chrome. If I use Internet Explorer, I have the option of adding comments ! Going back to Chrome, my comments show up, but I can't do anything with them.

I do not know which ones this fourm uses. Could be Java, more likely Flash. Could be HTML 5, but if your browser is up to date, then that will be covered.

If all is up to date, that is good, but are they turned on? Tools > Options > Security would be a good place to look.

My Firefox is version 35.0 as well. As for the add-ons, which one is needed to show the browse button in changing my avatar. (The one's I have are all updated.)

What version (Help - About Firefox at the top)?  I'm at 35.0

Check to be sure that your plug-ins are up to date and turned on.

The "Browse" button is asking to look inside your computer, and that has to be done with the assets within your computer.

I see the Browse button fine.

What browser are you using?  I've got Firefox.

Changing My Avatar
Posted by Blaine's Trains on Thursday, January 22, 2015 11:55 AM

While changing my avatar, I am lead to a box where I'm supposed to be able to browse for my new avatar. However, the actual browse button does not appear in the box, and I'm left hanging like a chad in Florida.

May I have some assistance, please?
