Hardwiring Athearn engines ...
Posted by pepperkay on Thursday, November 11, 2004 2:06 PM
Can anyone steer me to the several different websites where 'the care and feeding' of Athearn engines is discussed ... conversation ranged from new lights to hardwiring ...

I had them but my computer ate 'em for lunch ...

Thanks,

Specifically, what are you trying to do to your Athearn locos? Hardwiring a DCC decoder in an Athearn is straightforward and a piece of cake if you're comfortable soldering. Care and maintenance of Athearn is fairly simple as well. What is it you are seeking?

Hi Mike and Ed:

Mike, the URL you gave me was one of the three I'd lost ... thanks a bunch ...

Ed, I'm soldering and wiring the motors, not DCC decoders ... that's the next project and I'm comfortable doing so, having put decoders in several of my P2K engines ...

Again guys, thanks much ...
