IHC engines are generally good engines, but not for over $100. If you're going to pay $149, head on over to Ebay and look for a BLI engine for about that sort of money (the USRA heavy mikes go for about $150, and there are BLI hudsons on Ebay now selling for $189. Heck, there's an older brass NYC hudson on Ebay now going for $99!)

My LHS has one ruduced in price. If I recall correctly it was about $70. I thought about buying it, but
after talking with the owner, decoder installation would be difficult. Now, I personally have never installed
a decoder in an IHC loco, so I don't know how difficult this would be. Dave

I have never seen one except in pictures. And from what a previous thread said these Hudsons are generic and use the Mehano "Mountain" body. Mehano is a good running engine, especially for the money but not for $149. If you want it, wait a year or two for the price to drop.

let me phrase it this way...should I save my pennies and wait to buy a similar BLI (like a mikado, etc.) for a "wee" bit more? Or is this hudson good on it's own?
