When you add smoke fluid be sure it is only a few drops. Any more and the element will be flooded and can't heat up enough to produce smoke.

Was the engine new in the box? Nearly all the smoking BLIs I have purchased there was enough fluid in the stack to run for several hours right out of the box. Once the factory smoke has burned off I turn the heater off using the switch gn2680 mentions (on early runs the switch was behind the smokebox front).

Smoke is not one of the features I use on my railroad... Ed

Turn the loco over and check to make sure the smoke gen switch is in the on position switch should be near the underside of the cab.

Broadway limited smoke help.

I just got a new Broadway limitied loco with sound and smoke.  Everything works fine but the smoke.  I have tried running it on DC and DCC.

I have a NCE Power cab.  The display is showing L_ _ _ _ _6.  How do I make sure the function is turned on?  Thanks.
