Sounds kinda cool since I'm mainly interested in trains of the 1960-1989 period (pre-major graffiti and pre-ditchlights etc.)

If you subscribe there's an Editorial or comment inside the Q1 edition. If they aren't going to have photos of newer stuff I'll drop that and get "Diesel Era" instead. One issue left better be good.
Mine doesn't move.......it's at the station!!!
Just a follow-up, I assume most folks have seen the full page ad inside the cover of the Feb 2015 Railfan & Railroad..."TRP has a new name! The Railroad Press is now Trains & Railroads of the Past."
From the TRP website, here's a link to the cover of Issue 1 (Spring 2015) of Trains & Railroads of the Past:

...and the Contents page:

We'll see, but it's pretty clear from the advert this is a magazine, not a book.
The January R&R noted they were moving some departments from TRP to R&R and nailing it down to 60s, 70s, 80s railroading. Didn't mention a name change. Trains & Railroads of the Past sounds more like a book than a magazine. Not knocking the title since it is clear they wanted to keep the TRP letters.

""Trains and Railroads of the Past" delivers an award-winning presentation of classic railroading."
Quote from the White River Productions advertisment, page 95 of the January 2015 Model Railroad News magazine. It shows a picture of the cover of a magazine with the familiar "TRP" in a diamond logo, and next to the logo the magazine's name is "TRAINS & RAILROADS of the PAST (their emphasis)". It also shows similar pictures of WRP's Passenger Train Journal and Railfan & Railroad magazines.
This appears to be the new website:

My guess is WRP is going to do something like Kalmbach does with Trains and Classic Trains - Railfan & Railroad will be mostly current rail stuff, with the new TRP being about vintage railroads / trains.
rrinker I seen nothing either on the TRP web site nor in the press release for White River that say anything about 'renaming' TRP Magazine. Just a rumor someone started? --Randy

The comments on the White River web site were vague, but I did not get the impression that TRP was changing, just that the web site was being changed.

Is this the new website: http://www.alco628.com/ ? Looks like the same name/format to me.
Just giving this a 'bump'...can't believe I'm the only one that's wondering about this change??
It appears - based on the ad on page 95 of the January 2015 Model Railroad News - that TRP magazine is changing from "The Railroad Press" to "Trains & Railroads of the Past"?? The White River Productions website just says that a new TRP website is coming Jan. 2015.
Has anyone heard anything more about this change??
