Send it to Bachmann along with $10 and they will fix or replace it.

Bachmann has their own website with a small forum called "Ask the Bach Man". Lots of people write in with service questions like that and they usually get the same answer as Flip gave you, 'send it in to service'.

If it's under a year old (and you have the warranty card or proof of purchase) there is no charge. Over one year and they do charge, I actually think the charge for steam engines is now $15, 'Spectrum' line engines are $20. It's $10 for diesel.

If you want, the address of their site is:
http://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/index.html

Then click on "Ask the Bach Man" icon.

They also have a Service/Parts section with a form to use when contacting them about a service problem. At the bottom of their home page, click on Service/Parts in the list of pages at the bottom.

Regards

Ed

I also had one of that and there are two answers: lack of respect to their customers and lack of precision in the gear project. Although the tender looks pretty well the essencial that means good funcioning is something you cannot count on those Bachmann models. They would rather put those products out of the line and just keep their excellent Spectrum line models on market.

I have tried oil, etc, etc, nothing solved the problem. I have even folded the gear bearer, it helped a little bit, but not 100% perfect yet.
