RFD-TV has several RR shows

Cable and Sat TV subscribers may want to look for RFD TV and check the schedulecfor train related shows. Although mostly farm and AG related, this channel shows several railroad programs including Trackside, Machines of Iron, Great Toy Train Layouts of America, I love Toy Trains, I Love Trains and others. You all know BigBoy here on this board, ...we 'met' him on RFD TV a few months ago as he hosted a tour of his "entertrainment" public access layout located in the Mall of America. Most of the shows are either of the prototype, or vintage toy, or scale 3 rail.

It's great just to see trains on TV! Mike and I watch as many as we can.

I am so bummed that I can't get RFD TV here. My cable company doesn't offer it, and I refuse to switch to dish. I have been told by members here that they have seen me on there in the past, as RFD likes to play some of Tom McComas' old videos.

Elliot- saw the program about the mall and it sure as heck featured you prominently.
Heck of a work of love.

Thanks Flip, it was a work of love. It was a very sad day when I had to close it down. It took almost 2 years to get over the loss. The problem wasn't the rent, as was mentioned in the video, it was the traffic in that location within the mall.

I had to make a virtually blind decision when choosing the space. At least Tom managed to capture it for posterity. I think it's great that RFD TV runs that stuff.

If anyone ever wonders, what happened to all that stuff? The answer is, it's in my basement, slowly becoming a new railroad.[;)][8D]

Yes, and the cool thing is they replay these several times a week at different times a day. I often catch them when I'm up with my 5 month old son at 5:00 a.m. or at other odd times.

I just found out about the shows since I got Satellite TV, and have been enjoying them very much. I LOVE TRAINS is really a kick if you like Lionel and American Flyer (I do) and the kid that's the host has a really charming sense of humor. TRAINS AND LOCOMOTIVES is varied and really interesting, and I like the Chicago setting of one other program (only seen it once, so the title escapes me) is really interesting for this West Coaster, especially the segment on the "Hot Spots." In fact, have to sign off now, TRAINS AND LOCOMOTIVES is just about to come on.
