Dear HO enthusiasts,
It has been sometime since we produced models for you. But now that we have a new sound system and a new factory in Korea we are ready. We call this new series, "20th Century Limited Editions"
Let me tell you a little bit about our new sound system. It is based on digital recording from real steam engine chuffing, whistles and bells. We are building a library of prototypical sounds to use for our new sound system. The sound system can be operated by a button box provided with our first run of locomotives (NP Class A 4-8-4). It has a bell and whistle button. The model can be operated in a DC environment just like any of your non-DCC models. The sound system will turn on at less than 3V on the track, before the model begins to move. If you are into DCC, we have provided plug in compatibility with NCE DCC decoders. Once installed the engines sound system can be operated through DCC and includes a variety of sounds like, coupler clank, squeeling brakes etc.
The models we are producing are all in BRASS and are short runs in some cases just 100 pieces of each version. We have noticed that another manufacturer keeps re-running the same model and is now dumping these on the market making your investment in their models worthless. Not so with Sunset Models. We will not overproduce. We can adjust our production to meet demand up or down.
The models we are proposing for 2005 are listed on our web site.
