Be aware that sometimes Bowser tender castings show chill marks. Also the rivets may be larger than the Archer decals.

Hi all,
In doing some research on PRR K4s 1361, as I'd like to create a good model of it, I noticed it has what appears to be a 130P75 tender, while the BLI K4s, has what appears to be the shorter 110P75 tender. As far as which tenders to use, I am thinking either swap for a brass one, either acquire a separate 130P75 tender, or use the old Bowser, "PRR 13000 gal. Tender." Or acquire a relatively inexpensive brass K4s and swap its tender for the BLI piece. I read on this page, http://pennsyrr.com/index.php/motive-power/86-modeling/177-ho-scale-k4-tenders that the Bowser model is accurate (it's quite decent looking, though the rivet patterns are different in some places, but using proper Archer transfers can fix that if one so chooses). The Bowser model may be cheaper to acquire, but require work and quite a few detail parts to create an accurate and detailed model of 1361's tender. A brass one (PSC imported 130P75 tenders which look quite good) will cost a good bit more, but need far less work to bring up to standard. Finding either of them will be a challenge in and of itself, but whatever, this is a hobby, not a race or such. Has anyone on here swapped tenders with BLI models and what kind of work would I be looking into?
It'd be nice if Broadway were to model a K4s with the 130P75 tender, and hopefully they will one day.
Thoughts or ideas anyone?
Alvie
