Walthers Tug Interior
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, November 1, 2004 10:25 PM
I have a couple of the walthers tugboars. The amount of windows in the pilot house makes me want to try to spiff up the interior. I know Crow River Models and another company (forget the name) make the wheel, compass, engine order telegraph etc., but what else goes up there? Does anyone know a good source of pics or plans that would help?

Thanks!

Dave,

Railroad Model Craftsman had a 4 part article on railroad tugs back in 1983 (Apr to July). There are some nice interior shots of the pilot house. I used these articles to scratchbuilt the interior of my tug. (will post photo's later)

Things that you will need are as follows

Radar
Chart table c/w electronics
Telegraphs (throttle for you landlubbers)
Radios
Wheel and compass
Captain's Chair
Clear view screen
Coffee Maker (an absolute must!)
Sound pipes (copper pipes for yelling instructions down to the engine room if the telegraphs fail or the engineer falls asleep)

Hope this helps

Bob,

I keep forgetting that there are separate search engines out there for images. Thanks!

Dan,

Stop teasing and post the pics!
