I have had the new prodigy advance for about two weeks now. It is great in my eyes. It can program any CV you wish now and its new handheld controller is a big plus. Like the digital read out. I have run 4-5 engines at a time without any problems. If you are going to run alot more engines at the same time you will most likely need an additional power booster regradless who's system you go with. This is a good system. It also controls all of the sound functions on my BLI engine too. The standard prodigy version would not very well.

I already have system. go here for some thoughts on it. http://www.trains.com/community/forum/topic.asp?page=-1&TOPIC_ID=20877&REPLY_ID=208513#208513

There is also another thread about the power source being weaker than advertised. You should stil be able to run multiple locos at the same time.

Fergie, I posted this same question in the other category of the forum. I hope to have mine in a couple of weeks and will post results on both queries. I have used NCE on a friend's operations based layout and love it, just costs too much. check back in about 2-3 weeks.

Prodigy Advanced: Any experience?

My LHS is bringing in Prodigy Advanced at a good price and I'm curious as to how this unit measures up to Digitrax and some of the other big name DCC manufacturers.

My only concern is the Unit comes with a 4.4 Amp power supply and I'm not sure if this will be enough to power the "Fleet".

Regards
Fergie
