Here's a Minitrix K4 that's been both Re-powered and repainted.

Max Magliaro re-powered the locomotive with a Faulhaber 1319 coreless motor and replaced the gearing.

I repainted it into Pennsy colors.

Show me something you scatch built.

Here is an oldie but goodie, U-18B MEC 404 "Kenneth Roberts". No, it's not Intermountain, it's an undecorsted Athearn Blue box kit that was modified to a U-18 by Chucks Chop Shop about 20 years ago. I detailed and painted it.

Show me more modified / painted locos

Heartland Division CB&Q
Please show a locomotive which has been one or more of the following: re-powered, upgraded, detailed, or modified.

I guess this Kato SD38-2 fits that description, it started as a CN&W unit.  Before stripping and repainting it in the CSX YN2 scheme, I relocated the headlight from between the number boards to the nose, substituted the factory horn with a K5LA, and added the bell near the radiator grille.

Let's see another modified or repainted loco.

I believe the last request was for trucks and trains....  The flatbed has arrived to switch out the ash and cinders from the ash pit in Hopewell Junction.

How about trains and cars as in automobiles...

I'll show you three

My yet to be finished roundhouse from my yet to be started Western Pennsylvania railroad museum.  In my universe, there were 10 K4s's saved, and three are operational-the 1361, and the 5442.  The museum is fictionally set in the city of Washington PA, and the museum uses the nearby Wheeling & Lake Erie/Austinville & Dynamite City Railway, tracks for weekend excursions.

Show me an example of a modern day steam excursion.  Or of a locomotive on display.

(My Model Railroad, My Rules)

These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway.  As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).

A friend of mine brought his early 1900's era MOW car over and pulled it around the layout one day.

I thought it was a pretty rare car.

Show me something else rare or unusual on your layout.
