I bought one of the six axle units a few weeks back and I can say that is has to be the best running locomotive that I own.

I can't believe how slow in can move and the sound is just awesome!

I would suggest you order one without delay before they are all gone.

I am waiting on my second unit which is in the green and gold scheme.

They are due within the next month or so.

Wayne I just recieved my 6 axle GMD-1 last week and I am really impressed with the locomotive. It is the first Rapido and first Loksound equiped locomotive I have bought. It has great slow speed and runs smoothly right out of the box. The detail is great and it seems to track well through switches and curves. Can't wait to get the time to break it in.

The Loksound sounds are really nice especially the horn. This is one well thought out engine, it shows that Jason and his team put a lot of effort in getting this engine right. Well Done Rapido!

Hope this helps in making your decision. Jim

I was wondering if anyone here has purchased one of the new Rapido GMD-1s. Most of all one with the six wheel trucks. What do you think of it and how does it run? I am thinking of getting one or two in the green and yellow scheme ( 1950s ). I searched the web for info as the red & black ones are out but did not find much info.

I found a couple still avaliable for pre-order at Canadian Express Line and did not want to order until I had an idea if they were a good locomotive before a slap my money down.
