GSB Part Usage Assistance
Posted by FRRYKid on Friday, July 25, 2014 10:59 AM

I have one for the forums. I looking at on eBay this morning and saw the following item: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201037639843?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

It mentions that it is a bolster for Con-Cor passenger cars. (edit: Unfortunately, the listing doesn't give much of a description of the item.) Given that I will be using a Con-Cor SL Observation car for a project that I am building, I would like to know how it is used and if it improves the function of the car.

Thank you in advance for any and all assistance that the forums can provide.

I am not certain, but I believe that GSB had a line of passenger car trucks.  And those bolsters were made to adapt their trucks to different make passenger cars.  It appears that there were several different bolster flavors.  See http://www.northerncentralsupply.com/gsb.html.

There is a posting re: the GSB trucks here: http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/148896.aspx

I don't know how useful they would be to replace existing bolsters to use non-GSB trucks.

Question answered. I will remove that item from my watch list.
