Buy one get one free Exactrail...Pffft! Who cares?
I'm never tempted by free shipping for that locomotive I don't need.
I'm so glad my layout room is this small and not 25x45.
"What's that, Dear? You think I need another engine?"
"But I just don't want any more engines."
"Really, I have everything I will ever need already."
"I am lapidary but not eristic when I use big words." - William F. Buckley
I haven't been sleeping. I'm afraid I'll dream I'm in a coma and then wake up unconscious. -Stephen Wright
I've got 350 brass locomotives, I don't really need another one do I ?
I'd love another Santa Fe F7 (remember seeing tons of them everywhere years ago, especially in those Life-Like train sets)
Everybody loves limited model production.
One day, i'll convert back to DC.
Shouldn't have primed before painting
Check out my work here:

I can't wait to do some wiring
I would much rather keep up with the Kardashians than the MR forum
I wish this workday would never end
Oh fiddle faddle I just dropped my favorite engine on the concrete floor
Modeling the Pennsylvania Railroad in N Scale.

I hope There's something good on tv tonight-I don't feel like working on trains.
(My Model Railroad, My Rules)
These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway. As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).
Don't you just love my Walmart figure-8 toy train?
Conemaugh Road & Traction circa 1956
"I never knew model trains were based on the real thing"
"I want a monorail on my layout"
"What is a coupler?" {followed by} "WHERE do I find the coupler?"
"I wish they'd bring back the more realistic Horm Hook couplers"
What IS a "Cody Grivno" anyway??"

"I told you, I am NOT addicted to TRAINS! I can STOP ANY TIME I WANT!"
-G .
Just my thoughts, ideas, opinions and experiences. Others may vary.
HO and N Scale.
After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.
Well I finished constructing my layout. I am now going to get into a new hobby. Hmmmmmm. Maybe I will buy one on those quadcopters with the cameras and buzz my neighbors.
I am putting words into the mouth of our dear and well-reputed friend ATLANTIC CENTRAL:
No offense meant, Sheldon!
I think a lot of modern model railroaders think of "Pelle Seolberg"(I know I messed up the last name by accident), for their inspiration. Or The man who created the Ohio Southern, etc. The Virginian and Ohio is the earliest one I was exposed to.
riogrande5761 russ_q4b Riogrande5761 Who is John Allen? I'll bet you there are a lot of younger model railroaderse who say that. That one really depends on age. Cheers, Jim John Allen is a legend. I see his name mentioned in MR and this forum all the time. Other model railroad masters of today say they get their inspiration from him. While I agree, it would be interesting to take a poll of younger modelers, say those under 30 who don't rub shoulders alot with old timers, and see if they've heard of John Allen or his RR. I am 55 and consider myself well past John Allens time. I've only seen a few photo's of his work and always considered it a "curiousity". Lots of talent no doubt. We had a discussion on another forum where a number of members put John Allen in a class with Malcolm Furlow and a few others, who's layouts were more "Disneyesque" and many agree. Art, yes, realism, not so much rather fantasy.

OK Here's something for the younger people
Who is Cody Grivno?
Have fun with your trains
Rio Grande. The Action Road - Focus 1977-1983
I am SO GLAD that there is a limited amount of Wheeling and Lake Erie equipment on the market (Then again, I do enjoy decaling projects from undecorated stuff)
This steam locomotive is out of my era, so I will not run it.
I wish I had less space to work with
I am so glad locomotives cost 400 dollars at a time
Who wants Bowser kits?
What we need is MORE pre ordering as I can never find any new stuff on the Hobby Shop Shelves!
(Oh - wait a minute - this is the way it is NOW) ! ;-)
BOB H - Clarion, PA
"At these prices, RTR Kadee cars really should come with horn hook couplers factory installed."
"The NMRA would get more members if they'd just raise their dues."
"What this hobby needs is more limited runs and advertisements for products that don't yet exist."
Dave Nelson
What's a blue box kit?
MMMM Doggy. That dirt in the oven smells just like Prime Rib!

"I did it right the first time"
"The CAD program took all the guess work out of planning. I will never make changes"
It's 'bout time they tore down that abandoned roundhouse. We need that land for the new mall.

Just be glad you don't have to press "2" for English.

russ_q4bGoing to the Timonium Train show is a waste of time, I almost never find anything that I am interested in.
There is a guy in another train forum who essentially said something like that just recently when he got back from the last Timonium show - he was really disappointed and didn't menion any purchases. Felt like it was a wast of his time - I'm paraphrasing. I went and while it was a summer how, I found it a nice treasure hunt
I would work on my layout, but there is too much good stuff to watch on TV.
I've never heard myself say that.
Those are my thoughts. One thing I've learned after many years in the hobby is never say never!
Metro Red Line [While stopped at a railroad crossing] "Ugh, this stupid train is taking FOREVER! Move faster already!" "There are too many hobby shops." "This brick and morter hobby shop ROCKS! Everything is 25% off retail price!" "Ballasting is fun!" "My layout is finally 100% FINISHED!"

Your last one really hit home, especially when visitors ask, "When will you be done with it??"

If you think my model railroad layout is neat, you should see my slot car track- it's much cooler!!!!!!!
Gosh, don't those old Life-Like train sets look realistic?
What's so interesting about trains, anyway?
Cedarwoodron
Why would I spend $30 on a Westerfield Ma & Pa boxcar, when I can buy an undecorated boxcar for $5 and add some Ma & Pa decals? Who would notice?
The railroad that I am modeling does not have any tunnels nor high bridges, so I won't have tunnels and high bridges on my layout.
Why would someone spend $400 on a craftsman kit? It's basically of box full of scrapwood, cardboard and some metal castings
