Dummy FT-B & F7-B
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, October 17, 2004 10:11 PM
I'm looking for an inexpensive painted dummy FT B unit in CBQ gray/red freight paint scheme and an F7 B unit in CNW's green/yellow/black freight scheme.

Also post if you can find other cheap F series units for either of these lines, I might modify them to work if it is inexpensive enough.

EDIT: Oh yeah, this is HO scale.

If you have a quality detailed A unit ,then you may just have to settle for an ebay B unit auction, of the same manufacturer. Sometimes an A&B auction works out cheaper, and then you can re-sell the original A.

Thanks for the response, Ahtearn doesn't seem to have my roads, so eBay it is, unfortunately I may end up buying both the A&B like you stated.

Check out the Stewart Hobbies website, and look in their web specials section. They have a list of various F dummy units they have available, and many have some in CBQ colors. Very reasonable pricing; I got two F3/7B dummys in SF freight for $20 each not long ago to go with the powered A units I bought years ago.

I guess Bowser is handling the sales now, so you may have to go to their site to actually order the B's if Stewart has them.

If your looking to save a buck as we all do these days you may want to check out Standard Hobby Supply. Athearn units are priced fairly good. I am not sure at this time if they have your roadname but you could always paint and decal your own. Also Stewart Hobbies sells very well build and operating FT & F7 units but the cost would be higher. Standard also sells Stewart units at a lower cost. http://www.standardhobby.com. Shop around you can find a price in your budget.
