Toto was off looking for a fire hydrant. Rest assured that I've found a model suitable for conversion. Don't anyone tell Toto he was born a cat. Toto was not in the scene I used to create the characters, though:
Again, I apologize for the poor photo quality. I'm looking for a real camera to replace my old one.

Alex, I like the caboose - it looks so "industrial". Cool.

We have a winner.
Thanks for the great pic's,everyone.

I've rearranged some arms, and added hats to 2 of the figures. Another has "bulked up," all with the aid of putty. Just a bit of sanding an they'll be ready for paint.
Oh, and I apologize for the photo quality. My camera seems to have died a horrible death. Time to get a new one.
Incredible work by everyone!!! I'm glad to see that participation in the best thread of the week is up.
Here is one from a recent operating session (My grandson running the trains) on the BRVRR.
NYC Hudson #5335 rounds the General Industries Curve at the head of a heavyweight consist, bound for Chicago.
Keep up the good work everyone. Thanks for making WPF the best thread of the week, every week.
Here is my week's progress. I have finished my B&O caboose, and have been working on a new pipe load and I am still waiting for my DCC decoder to arrive.

GP9 Man, I was just thinking about leftover Chrismas decorations on my drive home from hockey late Tuesday night. Not only do some folks leave them up all year, but the lights are still on! I've been slowly dealing with my own Branchline kit, the Munnsville Depot. It's a lot simpler than that house, and more straightforward. Still, I've been on the job for a month and there's still work to do.
Mike, I really like your work with those figures. So, I present the first of a series. I call this one "Four Characters in Search of a Setting:"
The final scene will be instantly recognizeable to most of you. I'll try posting progress pics, but how soon can you guess what it will be? I'll be "people bashing" the figures a bit with razor saw, glue and putty. They are pictured in the order that they will appear on the final scene, and no, it's not railroad-related. It will be tucked into a wooded area, one of those "Easter Eggs" that you have to look around a bit to notice.
I added a billboard & signs to the layout.
THank you Heartland, I will stop by the diner in a couple.

Waiting on the foam tack to dry so the cork and track will stay in one spot, thenI'll start on the other main.

I've done a little bit more, I've started in the bottom main line.
I'm sure #6012's crew is not happy about their task, unfortuantely SP&S road units are awaiting DCC conversions. THis unit will hopefully be switched by tuesday or so.
G Paine trainguy4466 Thank you all, the little guy's still a work in progress. I'll post some clearer photos once I've done some more work to it Does it have a power truck or is it a dummy? How many cars do you think it will pull?

It does run, and the chassis has in the past, but I did something to it when I made the conversion that has stopped it from working. It's an old tyco chassis so any reliability I can get out of it remains to be seen. I may try to get something like a geared Hustler chassis for it but for now the tyco chassis will do. As for pulling power I esitimate it can probably pull 5 or 6 reasonably sized cars with metal wheels
Trainguy THat's an awesome unit!
Thanks Bear, I'm not so young anymore.... well amongst my coworkers but I'm still a lad comapred to the great folks here. I just turned 20 today, I'll be spending my time working on my module.

Very nice pictures so far.
Here is an old shot from before I moved the layout to the new house.
WPF never fails to provide loads of interest. As I wait for the new pocket camera to arrive I'll slip in an old rerun from my previous layout.
Thanks to all, regards, Peter
