Those -sorry can't use the real term this being a family forum and all-started a slow showing around late 82 and was to be used on "selected" trains..

I kiss my job goodbye starting in September of '84..So much for "selected" train use.

Hey Matthew:

In case nobody has said thus far, or even if they have:

Welcome to the forum! Welcome

I just learned a lot from the answers to your post, even though EOTs are too new for my era.

Dave

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

It is called by different names, "EOT" is one of them.   I always liked "FRED":   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/End_of_Train_Device_(ETD)

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Whats the name of the lights you can get for the end of the trains that are prototypical. It looks like they hang around the couplers and have red lights. I cant seem to find any on the sites to buy. But then again im not sure what they are called.
