Hi Len,

The driving washer must be gluded into the Lens Bracket Assembly.

The 494 has an adhesive washer (Lionel part # 3520-42)with glue on both sides that is used to glue the driving washer to the inside of the Lens Bracket Assembly. The drive coil is mounted on top of the tower structure. The driving washer is glued into the Lens Bracket Assemble with the adhesive washer. The feet on the drive washer must face down towards the drive coil.

Regards,

Tim Pignatari
