The prototype railroad one block from my house shakes my windows too. Modeling in N scale I just cannot see a speaker the size of a dime shaking my windows like the real thing does.

rrebell Sorry to say that things like that come to HO first because of the numbers of customers. Good reliable sound is just now getting widespread in HO.

As far as video sound..I guess that will depend on if you use the computer's speaker, quality external stereo speakers or quality headphones. All I want are actual DCC freindly frames like Kato or intermountains where there's minimal space adjustment work and you don't have to send the frame off to get milled.

ESU makes N Scale sound decoders which doesn't sound to bad..It is highly possible to add first generation diesel sounds.

Think there a couple of reasons. They have gotten motor control decoders small enough to put in N scale, but there is little room for a speaker. Also, smalll speakers don't produce the sound quality that is desired. They have come a long way in sound quality of HO in the last few years, but I think speaker size is probably the biggest thing holding N scale back.
Just my thoughts.

Why anyway? With all of our advancement in miniaturization of electronics one would think that N-scale would be rapidily following what's become standard in larger scales.
