Thanks guys, soldering is not a problem for me, but again we find built in obselecence and something else to throw  away.  Still I guess it saves on the de-soldering.

They are not really reusable. Toss them and solder. Even if not disturbed they will eventually fail after awhile.

Whenever disturbing those clips for any work, I will solder the leads. Even w/ average soldering skills it should be a simple task. A few times I've experienced connection troubles w/ reusing them, even w/ proper tinning of the lead.

Wire retaining clips.

Does anyone know if there are smaller plastic clips to retain wires on decoder boards.  I have just changed out an Athearn board for a new Digitrax DCC board and the pins on the Digitrax are so small the plastic clips will not hold. On comparing the two boards the Digitrax pins are about half the width of the Athearn pins.

I thought the retaining clips were ment to remove the necessity of soldering, in this case it doesn't seem to have worked.
