HI :

I have found that there isn,t a noticeable difference between the two .We have AMTRAK units from three different manufacturer s and the difference is negligible .As a matter of fact it makes them look quite realistic . Now that said , if the difference is to great , given the livery you want to run , you can touch up the cars to match . I wouldn't do it if the difference is negligible .This would look real world normal .Leastwise that's my experience here .

Generally the striping should be fairly close if not exact, Most striping and color breaks are usually at seams ,windows etc. The colors may vary, but this is evident even w/ the prototype. Unless it is a "Name" train meticulously maintained discrepancies in color markings were common.

Passenger Car Similarities Between Manufacturers
Posted by FRRYKid on Friday, December 6, 2013 12:12 PM

Here's a question for the forums: I have a pair of Athearn RTR standard passenger cars and F7s in the original NP passenger scheme. (I want to have a small exec train in that scheme.) My problem is that I want to find a diner car to go with them. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find an Athearn diner car. I have managed to find a Cor-Cor car that is the diner that is the same scheme. If I get it, I do plan to replace the trucks with a set of Athearns.  (I have never had good luck with Con-Cor's trucks.) My question is this: Do the stripes on these cars line up with each other? I have seen some similar schemes that don't when they come from different manufacturers. Any assistance the forums can provide would be welcomed.
