Does anybody have any info about the sound capabilities of the Challenger? Some systems apparently are only able to play one sound at a time. I have a BLI Mike and I'm pleased with it's sound capabilities but I don't think I would be satisfied with haveing to choose between the bell, or whistle or chuff etc.

I just executed my first buy with www.firsthobby.com and I have never seen a negative post .
Other modelers seem satisfied and they have a nice full page color monthly ad in MR.

I've ordered 2 or 3 times from internettrains without any problems. There are a few threads here about different internet merchants. Internettrains, firsthobby, modeltrainstuff and others have gotten high marks. Trainworld has also gotten high marks if you don't mind calling in your order vice doing it on the net.

I just ordered a couple of Athearn Challengers from First Hobby. I echo the statements above - very professional and helpful. I asked Mike at First Hobby if he knew the answer to my question about whether the system is capable of playing more than one sound at a time. He said he would call Athearn and then let me know. In less than an hour he called back and said that Athearn says the chuff is constant and one other sound can be played simultaneously. If more than one engine is being operated on DCC, each engine can play a different sound.
