On prototypical railroads what was the degree the tracks were set at?

How big is a dog? Prototype spacing can vary a lot for roundhouse tracks off of a turntable. A good average is 10 degrees. The current Atlas TT & roundhouse uses 15 degree spacing....

It is a function of distance to the doors for clearance. The closer to the turntable the bigger the angle so the engines clear each other at the roundhouse. Doesn't matter closer than that to the turntable. in some cases the tracks crossed each other with frogs at the turntable end space was so tight.
