N scale ore cars
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 8, 2004 1:38 AM
Hi,
Some time ago tried to purchase some 70 ton ore cars from (I think) Microtrains, but it seems these were sold out almost as soon as they were advertised... They were just what I was looking for: small, undecorated and reasonably priced, I want a fair quantity of such cars to make up several trains for my free-lance european mountain mining railway.

Where could one get information on where and how to order N scale ore cars...?

Welcome to the forum Barend!

I'm not sure if Micro-Trains did a 70 ton ore car. I've always though Atlas was the maker of these, but I could be wrong. You can check through the Micro Trains release databases on their website. I could not find any off hand:

Atlas does make these cars, and there are some internet dealers that appear to have some in stock. You can check out the pictures to see if they match the style you already purchased. Here are some links to a couple of well-known N-scale vendors:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help!

The BuyNSale site did not accept international orders, so I ordered at modeltrainstuff. They don't have a real-time inventory system running yet , so "some items in your order could be sold out. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this. " I'll wait and see...

You may also find ore cars similar to the Atlas ones sold by Model Power. They come in 2packs.
