I used the Con-Cor/Revell/Monogram tender with powering kit on my Challenger too. It does take some work to get it working well and replce the handrails with better parts, but they look good in the end! I couldn't tell if yours was a better brass tender or something.

Beautiful job on both the engine and tender. Your extra work really paid off. I like that Bowser articulateds don't swivel the rear drivers, which takes so much away from a big heavyweight like this. How does it run? Dan
The tender was actually more work than I expected. The Bowser electrification kit is not just a simple install. A good deal of tme was spent on the tenders front truck to get it to turn properly. I also had to remove the modeled in hand rails on top of the tender and install the new brass hand rail stanchions and curved hand rails at the rearas well as modifiy the frame for the wheels to roll smoothly. The easiest part was painting it.
Well then, I might have to modify the statement on the tender being more work than the simple engine kits I built.
Now it's only likely.

I have done some MDC kits in the past. The tender of that looks to be more work than that.

Looks darn good. And a great deal - people pay big bucks for Penn Line just because it is Penn Line (used to be made not far from me, actually), and to have a Bowser Big Boy thrown is as well - nice catch.

Hello guys,
I just finished this baby. I picked it up about nine months ago at a local train show with a Pennline K4 for $75.00. It was a total basket case and was missing several parts. I will post some better pictures later, but for now, what does everyone think?
